| LA Ink is a reality show on TLC that follows the events of "High Voltage Tattoo", a tattoo studio in Los Angeles, California. It is a spinoff of TLC's Miami Ink. The shop is owned by acclaimed tattoo artist Kat Von D, who formerly starred on Miami Ink. In 2007, after a falling out with Miami Ink co-owner Ami James, Kat left the show and returned to Los Angeles, where she decided to open her own tattoo studio and was offered her own show.
